WHO WE ARE
Alfred Groves & Sons Ltd is a family owned business in Milton-under-Wychwood established in 1660
Nestled in the beautiful surroundings of the Cotswolds between Burford and Chipping Norton our architecturally rich yard comprises of around 40 diverse individual traders and businesses. Builders, beauticians, bakers and joiners work alongside our large well equipped DIY shop to meet the needs of the Wychwood community. Come and enjoy our cafes, French interiors shop and meet the craftsmen and artists who set this place apart!

PHILOTROPHIE!
The BEST YOGHURT in the country is hand crafted right here in Groves Yard.
If you think healthy, real yoghurt is what you can buy in the supermarkets, think again!
Foodie expert and founder Sophia Lingham is taking yoghurt back to its traditional roots and what a product she has created!
This sheep’s milk based yoghurt is made in small batches and left to mature in traditional Greek terracotta pots. The result is a delicious, creamy, thick set yoghurt full of goodness and flavour.

A grateful farewell to 2025 which saw us welcoming several new exciting independents to our space as well as improving & repairing old derelict buildings and pathways!
Planning was granted in early January to extend the @rise.and.flour Cafe to accommodate the growing need for a larger space for our lovely community! This happened at the speed of light and soon the cafe was able to open its doors to a space that seemed it had always been there! Fabulous!
@fireandwineuk, the need for more space was equally needed and when the neighbouring space became available, the girls transformed it into a cosy and welcoming space in a flash! Yes, when we go for it here, there is no stopping us 💃🏼
With the changes to The Elms we were able to offer two more retail spaces and were absolutely delighted to see @threadsandfibre & @salvage_and_selvedge moving in taking over these spaces and making them beautiful with their garments and textiles! Such amazing spaces and women!
With full occupancy and a waiting list we felt very privileged to only have a few spaces becoming available in 2025 and they were snapped up pretty quickly!
Tho old industrial space which had a lot of interest from many different businesses has become the cool and gorgeous home of the vintage cars @cotswoldstrasse!
And then of course there was the old derelict building in the middle of the yard known as the little old garage which was totally transformed by Paul&Gary, Puk, @thestylebrush and @littlefflur into the most gorgeous floral space!
The shop at Groves is equally evolving. We are always here to listen to any requests and are happy to help where we can. From ‘only’ being a builders merchant and DIY shop, we feel we have become more of your village shop which caters for the everyday need of our customers. Thank you!
We have lots of exciting plans for 2026!
New loos are being built as I write and then it is on to our old stable block making sure it will stand for at least another 300 years!
